But with good reason, I have been slammed with things going on, can't seem to catch up!
Ive been participating in a food co-op called Bountiful Baskets (www.bountifulbaskets.org)
We LOVE it!! We get two round laundry baskets FULL of fruit in one and veggies in the other.
This has really pushed me to be creative on my cooking skills and use what I have in the house.
Plus it is super cheap! Its only $15- for the two baskets and you can add on anything you want.
I have made Chicken, mushroom and fennel soup, Butternut squash soup, veggie wraps or buffalo chicken wraps, chicken pot pies, Pumpkin cake with cream cheese icing, apple crisp, banana nut bread (not everything is difficult to make).... I cant let this stuff go bad!
In November, we had Brother Shine here finishing up his record for several days (that released today to all you fine folks) You can get it here, https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/on-my-way/id750025603
Levi, Shine and several others worked very hard to bring this to fruition. Please support Shine!
We always enjoy having him here. Boston and Rosi love playing baseball with him. He knows a good bit about the sport too.
We have had lots of school stuff going on, nothing really out of the ordinary, I would just like him "caught up" before Christmas, at least what I consider caught up. We do not work nearly as long as we did before with GCA- he is less stressed and has more time to be himself as well as creative. I dont know what I would do without this kid. The reality that I only have him for 8 more years (when he graduates) is hard to swallow. I always thought I wanted to be young when my kids grew up, but why? It will just leave me more time to not know what to do with myself! WAIT?! Who am I kidding? Do I not know who I am married to? lol I am sure Levi will keep me plenty busy!!!
Boston is really into minecraft, it seems to challenge his mind to create, he loves it! I think he will even start going to a group that gets together and play.
Since Rosington turned 5 last month, he has really stepped into himself, the small things. He HAS to pour his own cereal and milk, his own drink, open his own door, walk by himself, just whatever HIMSELF! He is so silly. When he says something that you dont like he quickly say, "Im just joking." He also will not stop saying, "Guess what?" AHH! It drives me crazy, but I know it will soon pass. He is more likely to not want anything to do with me much as he is already very much into what his dad is doing... Oh well.
We celebrated both the boys birthday's this last month.. That was an event to get ready for! Though it wasn't as elaborate as I have done in the past, baseball themed which turned into nerf guns and sword fights, it was overwhelming! I did not realize all that I had 'let go' since we have been traveling so much with Levi. Being gone at least one week out of every month had clearly taken its toll on my house! One week sets me back two weeks and then I usually have a full schedule to make up for that week being gone and then things get pushed back again. I really need to rethink having a mothers helper. Maybe next year (fingers crossed) Ha!
After that it was appointment after appointment... one thing or another, then North Carolina. We had a fabulous time with my cousin Emmy and her husband. We went to the Greensboro Science Center. Have you been there? www.greensboroscience.org It was awesome! It was the science center plus a zoo and aquarium! Just big enough for the kids to love, but small enough to not be too much for the kids. Plus its cheap! You should definitely check it out!
Of course then we had Thanksgiving- I cant seem to control myself because once I started cooking I couldn't stop. I made two pans of dressing, (Brenda Lowrey style), a huge chicken pot pie, sweet potato soufflé, green bean casserole, pumpkin cake... there was a lot of prep and things take forever to do sometimes. It was fun. We enjoyed hanging out with family. The boys played baseball with their cousins and some of the dad's jumped in there. It was fun to watch.
I believe that catches me up on my, 'So called Life'
Hope you all are well!!
If you are not busy this weekend, come out to Dillard/ Clayton Ga to the Toys for Tots-
A great cause plus some mighty fine music!
